I didn't think I`d be back as Women's Captain quite so soon, if ever again. However, "I`m just a girl who can't say no" and who is also very happy to do anything I can to help our club. I'd like to thank Sue and her committee for steering us through these highly unusual times, which are obviously here to challenge us all for a bit longer.
This year my chosen charity is Noah`s Ark Children's Hospice. This is an amazing place both architecturally, but most importantly for the incredible work they do. All charities are struggling with funding during the pandemic and so I feel duty bound to try to put that extra effort in to help the Ark. Only 9% of their funding comes from central government. You can help too, by entering into the 2`s. This will cost just £1 a competition and who knows, if you get a 2 you'll receive 2 balls. You can also purchase a season ticket for water hazards. This will cost £20 for the year, a bargain for many of us. So please donate if you can.
I`m happy to report that Janet is recovering from her operation and would like to thank everyone for their get well messages. Thank you to Umar for replanting the pots near the first tee, they look fantastic. Congratulations to Alison and her partner (me) for making it through to round 3 of the Daily Mail Foursomes competition, beating West Essex.
Thank you to all of those who were able to come to my Drive-In on Wednesday. A massive thank you to mum and Tracey who helped me to provide home-made cakes for us all to enjoy. Hopefully, the hut will be fully operational very soon. With a tail wind and a run down-hill, I'm stunned to say that somehow the ball went around 240yards! Well done Ros for being the closest guess. Today's results were, Division 2 - Umar Annaradnam (26) 2nd Rita Kapur (29) 1st Sharon Saunders (31) Division 1 - 3rd Kathy Kerr (27) 2nd Diana Williams (35) 1st Lesley Avent (35)
