I'd like to start by congratulating Sarah and her Pearson Team, who posted their first win of the competition against Sudbury last Friday. Conditions were far from easy, but the team managed to secure a 3/2 win with Alison narrowly loosing her match on the 18th. A great effort Unfortunately, with lockdown some matches will need to be rearranged.
Because of the current Covid situation we had made a decision some time ago to cancel our usual Christmas Fair. We intended to run a bumper Xmas raffle instead, but again Covid has meant we need to rethink. So, we will be having a New Year/post lockdown raffle instead with some fantastic hampers and prizes to be won. More details to follow.
Please can I ask anyone who has a locker to let Alison know their number. She is updating the inventory and then we can issue lockers to those who need one or try to reallocate lockers to people if they wish to move.
Once we are out of lockdown and back playing there are a couple of reminders. As we probably won't be playing many qualifying competitions between December and February, if you wish to submit a card for handicap purpose you will need to contact Robbie Martin first. Once we resume with competitions please remember that you can play your competition on the Sunday prior to the Wednesday date, but please contact Lisa Martin first, so she can add you to the competition.
We would like to start running a Women's Swindle on the second Sunday in the month from 1pm to 2pm and would very much like any affiliate or new members to join in. A swindle is usually like a roll up, but with Covid restrictions we will all need to sign up online and then we can mix in. It's hoped this will be a great way to meet our newer members and have a bit of fun. Fingers crossed we can start on Sunday 13th December.
