Lady Captain's Announcements
Firstly can I apologise for the booking problem on Monday. Danny and Stewart have now ensured that it will open on Mondays at 7.30pm and also we will have the 8th. However the first tee will not be blocked for those coming round from the 8th, you will have to slot in with those going off the first. This is only fair since we do have to allow full use of the course and cannot justify keeping it blocked until 11am when generally the last ladies off the first are about 10-10.30am.
The Winter 'Fun' competitions have now come to an end and the winners were:
13 hole stableford winner with 49 points from 4 rounds was Pauline Platt.
18 hole competitions was calculated by taking positions each week and the best 5 used for the final result. Runner up with a total of 19 was Lisa Martin and the winner with three 3rd's, a 2nd, and a 1st giving a fantastic total of 12 from the 5 rounds was Dawn Rose.
Well done to these three.
Note we are back to qualifying competitions, both 18 hole and 9 hole comps, now next week is a stableford.
The weather was kind to us today without too much wind and a reasonable temperature; although it was getting a bit cold towards the end of the round! We had 14 players in the bisque and 2 in the 9 hole today which is a little disappointing. Sue Palmer outplayed us all to win the Bisque with +3, well done.
Several people have been asking about the format for the Lady Captain's Day and Lady Captain's Charity day. The lady Captain's Charity Day will be in teams of three on August 1st and Lady Captain's Day on August 22nd will be 4BBB.
Pauline is collecting 1&2 litre milk bottle tops in aid of the London Air Ambulance. If you can please collect these, give them a quick rinse and bring them to the club we will provide a collection container in the locker room from next week.
Good luck to Middlesex at the England Golf Awards, tomorrow, they have been shortlisted as the most progressive county having merged this year and their competition comes from Cheshire.
Remember to sign up for upcoming events; we want these to continue to support both the club and those that go out of their way to arrange them for us.
Curry and music night, with the protocols, Friday March 2nd.
And most importantly our annual club dinner dance on Saturday March 17th. We have a very nice menu for this several speakers, including our very vocal Captain and the music is the Motown band Bell and the Dots. This event is now full but a reserve list is being formed, I believe, so if you want to come and haven't booked do get your name down asap and you may get in if you're lucky.
Seafood Extravaganza on April 7th.
