Lady Captain's Announcements
Last week I gave out some dates and have now put a few copies of the playing calendar in the locker room for you to take if anyone still needs them. Specific dates to note are:
March 17th is the Annual Club Dinner.
April 4th is the Spring meeting
Also please note that the ladies invitation day is THURSDAY Aug 16th following the England Golf Junior Girls Championships, which I hope as many of you as possible will come along and support either as spectators or ball spotters etc. which I am sure Di will gladly welcome. Do speak to Di if you are willing to help out on any day Mon 13th – Weds 15th.
There are still a few gaps in my playing calendar if anyone needs a partner on these dates please sign up on my board in the locker room.
Also both the away day to Aldwickbury Park GC in Harpenden on 18th June and the overnighter to Dunston Hall in Norfolk on Sept 9th& 10th have spaces. I know before Christmas several of you said that you didn't know what you would be doing that far in advance but we are getting closer and we need to start finalising numbers; so if you do want to come please put your name up and speak to Cela.
Another thing that I'd be pleased if you would sign up for is the Pro/Lady Captain Challenge in the George low bar. If you can't make a weekend then you can propose a weekday date.
From next week you will no longer be able to book two weeks in advance on a Wednesday morning. This is to put us in line with the rest of the Club and also to avoid booking too early and reduce the number of people dropping out. Booking will now be from the Sunday of the previous week i.e. 10 days in advance, also in an effort to make booking more accessible to all the opening will be at 7.00pm in the evening rather than the morning. Hence there is no need to try to juggle breakfast, travel to work or whatever but at this time hopefully most people will have had the opportunity to get home and book at a reasonable time.
Billie has put a notice in the locker room for members to sign up for beginner bridge sessions but she wants to point out that this is also open to the men, if you wish to bring any along.
