So my last blog and to say it's been a strange year must be the understatement of the year! Who knew as we celebrated New Years Eve, what was in store for us in 2020! However, as a club I think we have been lucky that, to the best of my knowledge, we haven't had any members hospitalised or die from COVID-19.
Congratulations to Roz Margey for winning the John Shaw Bowl, and also to Umar Annaradnam who was the England Gold Medal Qualifier.
This week was the Harvest Festival competition, won by Lucy Bidmead. Once again BHP Ladies came up trumps bringing in lots of food items to be taken to the food bank, I could hardly get into my car, as it was so full up with boxes and bags!
I'd like to thank my committee for all their hard work over the last year and to the Ladies section as a whole for their support too. Despite the pandemic we managed to get most of our competitions played, we don't let anything stop us!
Thanks must go to Graham Careford and his team for their efforts with a reduced resources, they have worked wonders .Also Debbie and her team, who have carried on regardless!
Next week is Lady Captains drive-in and Lesley invites all ladies, including the Bridge ladies to join her for a light lunch.
It just remains for me to wish Lesley and Sarah good luck for the coming year, we're all right behind them!
