Ladies' Captain's Announcements
I want to start this week by thanking all the ladies who donated so generously to the plants bought for the new flower bed adjacent to the 18th green. Penny & Andrew for the bed on 15th tee, Umar for donating pots on 1st tee, Lesley, Tracey, Hazel & Di for all their hard work too. Apologies if I have missed anyone! It's all greatly appreciated.
So to our first competition since 'lockdown'. This week we played the Vets Cup with an alternative stableford for the 'youngsters'. The winner of the Vets, with an astonishing 46 points, was Alison Towndrow! Although until I see her birth certificate that result is not confirmed! Well done Alison.
The alternative stableford was won by probably our youngest player, Saskia Owen, with 36 points on count back. Well done Saskia, the first of many I'm sure.
Please take your name off the timesheet, if you no longer intend to play in the competition. (This probably applies more generally, to free up tee slots for others....)
Please enter your score in a timely fashion (even if you consider your score not to be good). This can be done via the App or the website on a smartphone, currently, it can't be done via a computer or tablet. Any problems please contact Lisa. Entry fees and 2's will be taken from your account on the morning of the competition
Don't forget to enter the Iris Sumner on 28th June. You can do this via the website or IG App.
I have heard from Di Williams today that both Jessica Brown and Saskia Owen have been asked by Middlesex to represent our County playing in September for the England Woman's County Championships. It is such an honour as over 36 counties have entered as all of their counties weeks were cancelled this year. A great advert for BHP Juniors!
Next week we have our 'Spring Meeting' morning round, which is a medal competition, as this counts towards the Lisney Trophy. I believe there is going to be a heatwave by Wednesday, so break out the Factor 50!
Stay safe and enjoy your golf.
