Ladies' Captain's Announcements
Firstly this week, I would like to echo the Captain and extend a very warm welcome to all the new members but especially the ladies who have joined Bush Hill Park so far this year. I have met some of you already and I look forward to meeting the remainder of you in the near future, when we can resume some form of socialising. In the meantime, don't hesitate to contact me if there is anything I can help you with.
I'd like to thank all the members, especially my ladies, who have volunteered as marshalls so far. Also the gents who were working around the 17th green on Wednesday, pulling weeds and lost golf balls out. I know they wouldn't want me to name them, they're all far to modest, (although the Captain may have blown their cover) they know who they are! They were doing a sterling job and I believe they may have also done some bunker raking.
The Competition on Wednesday 17th June is the Veterans Cup a Stableford Competition, which is open to all Ladies aged 65 and over on the day of the Competition. In Intelligent Golf it will be run in conjunction with the Alternate Stableford Competition, for those Ladies not eligible for the Veterans Cup. Therefore, please let Lisa know if you wish to be included in the Veterans Cup.
If you wish to enter the TWOs in the coming weeks, again, let Lisa know, if you have not already done so.
Please make sure you have sufficient funds on your club account to enter the Competitions.
Lisa will enter everyone on the Competition timesheet on Wednesday morning into the Competition - this takes the place of each of you entering on the touchscreen on the Pro Shop when you arrive in the morning (the touchscreen is unlikely to be available for the foreseeable future).
Please follow the process below regarding keeping scores:
- Keep your own score & that of your playing partner (as normal)
- Do not exchange cards (cards will be available on the 1st tee)
- Verbally agree scores
- Enter your own score in Intelligent Golf via the App or website (the website option is only accessible via a reasonably modern Smart mobile phone, not on a tablet or computer) before 6pm on the day of the competition. If you have any problems entering your score please contact Lisa
- If your playing partner has a good score, take a photo of the card
- Keep your scorecard
- After 6pm the competition will be closed
- All handicaps will then be updated & the competition results published
Bunkers will be in play, so all players should do their best to smooth over bunkers once they have played their shot to make it as fair as possible for all players.
A ball is considered holed if any part of it is below the surface of the putting green. (Please note that this is NOT as stated in the BHP guidance initially circulated, which related to the ball hitting the flagstick).
Please arrange and play your knockouts asap.
