Ladies' Captain's Announcements

It seems incredible that a whole year has gone by since I became Lady Captain - how the time has flown. This week my last task was to take the non perishable goods brought by the ladies for our Harvest Festival competition to the Enfield food bank. I resisted the urge to make everyone sing "We plough the fields and scatter " at lunchtime as I gave my final announcements.

Good luck to the two teams competing in the Lorna Peters at Highgate on Friday, let's hope they bring back the trophy.

Congratulations to Di and her Middlesex juniors who beat nine other counties to win the Alresford Cup.What a great result.

The 20th October is the rearranged date for our Club Championship. This will be over 36 holes and will be both a scratch and a handicap competition. There is a list on the locker room for you to sign.Tee times are booked from 9 to 9.30 am. If you cannot book on the system do it through the pro shop.

Thank you to all those who came to my charity quiz on Tuesday which was a great success making £549. Many thanks Pauline for compiling such an interesting quiz and congratulations to Lisa's team who were the winners.

Next week is Sue's drive in and the competition will be a waltz in threes. It is a shotgun start and the times and tees will be sent to you if your three is on the list in the locker room.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for supporting my Charity Beyond Ourselves. This wonderful charity supports education in Zambia and every penny goes straight to the schools involved. I am delighted to tell you that we have raised £4347.55 which is a wonderful amount.

Following our ladies' AGM on Thursday I now bow out and hand the reins to Sue Charles and I have every confidence you will be in good hands. I would like to thank my excellent committee and the support from all our wonderful ladies.

Chris
