Ladies' Captain's Announcements

Hello ladies- welcome to my first blog. Thank you for being so supportive at my drive in on Wednesday. We were so lucky with the weather so let's hope it is a good omen for the year ahead. I would like to say a big thank you to Alasdair for his amazing lunch and the terrific bread pudding, which he sold for Beyond Ourselves without being asked. I am looking forward to some good golf and lots of fun. Thank you for all your lovely cards.

Congratulations to our Lorna Peters team of Irene, Lisa and Sharon who came 2nd with 77 points in Wednesday's competition.

Please be aware and avoid the mound of mud on the 14th as one player sunk to her knees and had to be rescued. It is not safe to retrieve a ball.

Sunday October 21st is the rescheduled date for the Iris Sumner Trophy, which is a four ball better ball. Iris was a great character at the Club and it is good to support the cup in her memory. A list will be put up in the locker room and I will be harassing you next Wednesday.

Dates for your diary:

Wednesday November 28th - End of season Alliance, draw for partners

Thursday December 6th - Christmas Fayre

Thursday December 13th - Ladies' Christmas Party- book soon for a fun evening

Congratulations from NZ Chris on being the new Lady Captain. I know you'll be superb. Enjoy your time. I miss you all - a lovely club and I'm glad I learned to play golf there.

Thank you, Chris, for a great Lady Captain's Drive-In. The first one I have had the pleasure to attend and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. The lunch was deliciously tasty and just the right amount; as were the cakes in the hut. To cap it all, the bread pudding was a great idea as a money raiser and, thanks to Alasdair, it was absolutely 'to die for'. Great start to the year ahead.
