The golf course recovered very well after the arctic weather and snow of last week. Conditions were so good we managed to cut fairways, tees and approaches improving the definition that can be missing at this time of year.
We have erected a small wooden fence on the 7th path to encourage golfers to use the path and to avoid grassed areas becoming muddy through foot traffic.
On Wednesday work started the revamping the 16th greenside bunker that had been damaged by foxes over a long period of time.
We planned to revett the face and edges with recycled synthetic turf from a company called Durabunker.
The synthetic turf is basically recycled astro turf from old sports pitches, which are then cut to create a tile.
The tile has a sand fill which gives it strength and helps with structure within the revetted face.
We have used this bunker to trial the product, and if successful I would like to do many more in this style.
The new 16th bunker looks fantastic.
As does the pathway to the 7th tee.
Shows great initiative.
