Last Thursday saw our Annual Beaujolais Day, expertly hosted by Peter Beton who watched us all tee off then vanished into the warmth of the clubhouse to sort out the wine and prizes. After the meal of French Onion Soup and Beef Bourguignon and cheese cake, Peter informed us that he would be standing down as organiser but President John Bottoms will be taking over. The Event was won by Graham Corr, Kieron Costello and Dennis O'Shea with a creditable 82 points.

Friday was prize presentation evening which was well supported by the winners and runners up and was hosted by last year's Captain's Ray Ripsher, Chris Robertson and also John Copley and Lisa Martin. There was a nice atmosphere in the bar and I think everybody enjoyed themselves.

The next event was the Captain and Pro challenge which has already been mentioned by Danny. This time I wasn't Steinway but Moog Synthesiser, playing a bit better than last week but we couldn't stop the onslaught. We came a close second but the match was really enjoyable.

I must mention this coming Sundays four ball draw starting at the later time of 9.00 am to allow for those having breakfast. It's a real opportunity for new members to meet other players and there is a nice atmosphere in the George Low bar afterwards.

One of the highlights of December is the Turkey Trot on the 8th. It is still a draw for partners but with extra treats and prizes, it's always well supported so please come along at 8.00 for a shotgun start at 9.00 am.

That's all from me.
