Last Saturday saw the confirmation of the Club Championship, which was won in fine style by our new member, Ryan Millar, with a gross score of 147. Second was Marlon Hills with 148. In the Handicap Competition Marlon also made a stirling effort, winning by a mile from Paul Millard. Marlon was 19 under his handicap. I said his handicap would be severely cut and it was, he's now off 6. There was also some close contenders, namely Neil Hurst and Mark Watts.
You may have noticed some excavation work going on near the 13th tee. This is to facilitate our new hut and toilets. It seems to be coming along nicely, let's hope the weather stays fine and they don't run into any trouble so that it's finished by Festival Week.
The Am-Am, on the 20th August, is going ahead under the auspices of Len Palmer. I think we will have about 30 teams to support my Charity, The British Heart Foundation. Next week I will be advertising Captains Day, the final event of that week.
Last but by no means least is the Fourball Draw on Sunday. Please enter via the IG App and come along, it's a fun day and the weather looks promising. You don't need a partner, we will find you one.
