Congratulations to David Sparwell in the Wally Gatward Trophy last Saturday, winning with a magnificent 46 points, slightly ahead of Eusabio on 40 points.
The weather wasn't so good this week with some rain and extremely windy conditions. Let's hope it calms down for our grand opening on Saturday 4th July. It's been a long time coming and could be a welcome end (hopefully) to the pandemic.
The bar will be open Saturday at 11 a.m. for drinks until 9 pm. And food, which will be supplied by a retail outlet just outside the building will be served between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm It would help the staff to give a better service if we had an idea of numbers expected, so please book a table here and pre-order your drinks through the app.
Playing today I was presently surprised at the absence of pitch marks on the green. I would like to thank the members for taking notice of my blog.
We have had a great response to the 1st Fourball Draw on Sunday, over 50 entrants. This number hasn't been attained for a couple of years. Thanks Guys.
On Monday 6th July, Danny Hill our Head PGA Profesional, is going to attempt 125 holes of golf - which is 7 rounds, as a fundraiser for my charity which is The British Heart Foundation. Yesterday, Thursday, we had the Kruger Sovereign competition which was won by Mark Hubbard in the afternoon under extremely trying conditions with 41 points off 9 handicap.
