The big news is that on 4th July the clubhouse will be open for business, so come along, have a drink and support the club.
We have had another gloriously sunny week, something we can all enjoy in these dark times. The course is still in great condition thanks to the hard work and diligence of our green keeping staff One way of maintaining the slickness of our greens is to repair your pitch marks. It only takes a few seconds and makes a big difference. I'm surprised by how many I come across when I play. Please, please, please repair yours and others if you see them.
Saturday 20th June we had our first competition of the summer which was the Rafferty Qualifier with two great scores of 67 nett by our Greens Committee Chairman, Mark Watts and the old trouper Peter Wafford, who still manages to do 18 holes regularly without using a buggy.
Next we have a couple of competitions, namely The Wally Gatward this Saturday and The Kruger Sovereign on Thursday the 2nd July. Please enter via the IG App. Please note the Kruger Sovereign is an all day competition. The only limitation is day light hours so an opportunity for an afternoon competition.
Don't forget Danny's '125 holes in One Day' next Tuesday 30th June. Please make a donation here
We also need a few more entrants for the Fourball Draw on the 5th July. The clubhouse will be up and running by then and we should have a fast food outlet in the car park if you're a bit peckish after your round.
The nets and the small practice area are now available but please be aware that they are quite close to the first tee and could be off-putting to golfers teeing-off. Another annoying problem we have is motorists accessing the electric gate, either coming or going out. Just take your time and give the golfer on the tee priority.
More next week.
