Welcome to all the new members that have joined BHPGC recently. I hope you are enjoying the course and the weather. Luckily we've had a couple of rain showers that have freshened up the course, it was becoming quite dry in places but we do have the sprinkler system to protect the tees and greens. The marshalling on the first tee seems to be working well and most members are sticking to their tee times although I would emphasise that if you do not wish to play in your allocated spot could you PLEASE remove your name to open up a spare time as the time sheet is always pretty chock a block. To help to ease congestion, now that we are playing in fourballs, the interval between tee times is being increased to 12 minutes. This will come into effect on Tuesday 16th June and should be beneficial to all.Competitions are coming into play so please make sure to enter and have a competition handicap by submitting 3 cards to Robbie Martin for authentication.Dates for the competitions will be posted on the club website but please be aware the closing date for entry into the KNOCKOUT COMPETITIONS is 15th June. Entries must be made through the IG App or website and entry fees will be taken from your club card. Please make sure you have sufficient funds on your club account before entering the Competitions. The first competition will be the Rafferty Qualifier on Saturday 20th June, followed by the Wally Gatward on the 27th.
I'd like to thank our 1st tee marshalls for keeping the course flowing freely, although we have had a couple of complaints about slow play. Please be aware that if you lose a hole between your game and the game in front you MUST stand aside and call the match behind through. This may not be a problem with the new extended starting intervals.
I want to thank the members who have volunteered to marshall next week and another thank you to Klammer, Alan Brown, Mark Watts and Paul Millard for helping the green keeping staff to clear out the weeds from the lake on the 17th. I think they may also have found the odd golf ball.
Don't forget we should still be observing the temporary Covid 19 rules, including social distancing.
Stay safe and enjoy your golf.
