This week saw a brief respite in the wet weather which enabled us to get back on the course.
Saturday we held the Annual Dinner Dance with a superb three course meal presented by our chef Simon Greenfield, which was appreciated by all concerned and there was copious amounts of wine consumed. Eddie' The Voice' Cullen supplied the entertainment and David Dickinson with a humorous talk on the history of the club.
In all a very enjoyable evening.
On Sunday we had a golf morning in celebration of the day the club was founded, this was organised by Len Palmer and supported by 68 players. It was a mixed event with teams of 4 taking the best 2 scores. The winning score of 87 points was achieved by John Guiney and 3 new members, David Hall, Rob Collett and Ray Kelly, all from Royal Epping Golf Club. As a gesture of goodwill they donated their prize money to my Charity as did Len with a similar amount from the entry fees.
We finally got to the end of the Winter League, playing 18 rounds. It was won by David Knott on 230 points. Well done David.
