It seems like only yesterday I was sitting at my computer tapping out last weeks blog. Well here I am again having feelings of deja-vu. At last we have been having quite a lot of rain, super for the course but not too good for golfers. Even if it isn't raining the threat of a shower puts some people off. This happened on Sunday for my first pro ball draw, namely the Autumn Vases, an annual competition played in pairs off 90% handicap. Twelve intrepid souls made the effort and tucked into bacon rolls and coffee. Their names were then put into Ray Ripsher's Electronic Randomiser which chose the pairs. It was a nice warm morning, slightly breezy but no rain. The event was won by John Crisford and Ted Rees, with 40 points, well done chaps. They were presented with the vases which they can keep.
I've been looking at venues for next years Captain's away trip and have decided on Dunstan Hall, Norfolk on the 13th of September 2020. I've provisionally booked 28 places but this could be increased as required.
I'm off next week for a few days with the Lady Captain, leaving you in the capable hands of Iain Lanario, I'm sure he can cope.
