The first of many D days is nearly upon us.
Now that we are able to book golf 2 weeks in advance, from 06.30 this coming Monday, March 15th, you will be able to book golf for the Nations planned return on March 29th.
Obviously the course is expected to be extremely busy. Thankfully we are able to return as 4 balls, although social distancing rules will still apply.
To start with, there will not be any rakes in bunkers. We will continue to pick and place in bunkers, within 6" and make the bunker good afterward with club or feet. Also there will be no touching of the flags.
The Tee times are still set at 10 minute intervals. This should be enough time to keep a reasonable distance between groups and allow play to flow.
Please be ready to be on the 1st tee 5 to 10 mins before your Tee time, although no earlier, to avoid groups congregating.
If 1 or more of your group is late to the 1st Tee. Tee off without them. They will have to miss out & join you further on the course unless you have been able to switch your Tee time with another group.
Before your Tee time is a perfect time to tryout our brand new practice facility with 5 covered driving bay nets.
Slow play is the bug bare of nearly every golfer & it seems like we have to address this every week.
Our course is not overly long and an average 4 ball round of golf should take about 4 hours.
With a very busy course, any delays that your group incurs, affects every group that is behind you. It is the responsibility of EVERY golfer to keep up with the group in front, NOT just ahead of the group behind !
Letting groups play through is good etiquette but if there are no gaps in the Tee sheet, it will slow every group behind you. So please if you lose ground on the group in front, do all you can to speed up your round to regain your position on the course.
Dustin Johnson might take a couple of minutes deciding on a putt or shot. NEWS FLASH ! You are not World no.1, the outcome of the shot probably isn't worth thousands of pounds & the rest of the golfing world is not watching you. GET ON WITH IT !
The course is starting to look really good. Graham Careford & his team of green staff are doing an amazing job and the course will be ready for our return.
Remember to replace all divots and repair pitch marks !
I can't wait to get back out on the course, as I'm sure you all feel the same. Let's all enjoy it as much as possible.
Standing apart, pulling together !
